10 September 2015
The Quality Assurance Agency published '
Developing a Strategic and Coordinated Approach to the External
Quality Assurance and Enhancement of UK Transnational
Education' today (10th September 2015). The
report follows on from the 2013 consultation on strengthening the
quality assurance of UK TNE.
In 2013 the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills asked
QAA and the UK Higher Education International Unit to consult
publicly on 'what is needed to strengthen the quality assurance of
transnational education'. The consultation started in December 2013
and ran until March 2014. An Implementation Group was established
to consider the outcomes.
This report details the recommendations of the Implementation
Group on how external quality assurance processes can be adapted to
support UK higher education institutions both in maintaining their
reputation in delivering high quality education overseas and in
growing their provision.
